You are the most famous witch in the land but you just gave birth to a deformed monstrosity. The only thing you can do for your child now is brew a cauldron of inspiration...
One of the most beloved Welsh myths is brought to life on the stage with music, marionettes, theatrical storytelling, shadow puppets and a bubbling cauldron of inspired stew. The Cauldron Crone is an original re-telling and re-shaping of a story revolving around themes of inspiration, broken families, sacrifice and the often overlooked power of the crone.
Experience the shape-shifting magic of Cerridwen, The Cauldron Crone, as she painstakingly brews a potion containing the three blessed drops of inspiration for her disfigured child Morfran, the most hideous boy in the land.
A year and a day later when the three drops are ready, nothing goes as planned. In order to save her son from the cruelty of the world, Cerridwen is confronted with an unexpected choice.
From initiation to transformation, The Cauldron Crone is spun in the spirit of the old Bardic traditions, an ancient form of theatre tinged with both magic and meaning.
